| The Foxtrot is know for its elegance and famous for it's count: "Slow-Quick-Quick-Slow-Quick-Quick..." like the Waltz the foxtrot is performed primarily from the social position (the man and woman facing each other) main difference being the type of music danced to and the count for the Waltz is "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3..."
The Cha Cha is know for its intricate foot work and famous for it's basic Cha-Cha step. This dance maybe performed with the couples facing each other, standing side-by-side or one person in back of the other. quick turns and strong foot work has made this dance one of the most fun social dances.
Detroit Style Ballroom is a mix of the two dances. Taking the social positions and the elegant lines from the foxtrot and the independence of movement and footwork of the Cha-Cha and created an elegant dance social-club dance. |
