Many members have come and gone over the past nine years. They include, Victor and Clarice Smith who remain honorary members to the group, Easton Wright, Whodini, Horace Jones, Sherrie Dinsmore, Dominique Robinson, Tracye Dyess and Vicki Henning. However, Lisa Smith has stayed the course and along side Cynthia Wilson has been a driving force in many of MSBU’s social and civic accomplishments.
Any organization that continues to grow and flourish will advance with the times. Fast-forward to 2009. MSBU is now Milwaukee Steppers and Ballroomers United and stronger than ever. While the name has changed, Bopping remains an important part of our history and as Milwaukee’s hometown dance, will continue to be celebrated. Members are Cynthia Wilson, Lisa Smith, Cynthia Robinson and Peter Robinson (no relation). Even more, we are a network of hundreds when you factor in the many friends we consider family that have supported our efforts over the years.
Stepping and Ballroom are two of the popular partner dances that make up the urban scene in clubs and venues across the country and MSBU is dedicated to providing the latest in social dance.
MSBU has a long reputation in the community of producing great dancers and instructors alike through our weekly classes. No matter your skill level, we have someone to help you along the way to your goals. For those seeking to reenter the social scene, these classes are your first step in meeting new people. If you are looking to shed a few pounds, dance classes are the perfect cardio exercise to help you reach your goals.
Finally, and most importantly MSBU gives back! Throughout the years, MSBU has distinguished themselves through their leadership, volunteerism, community service and philanthropy, all working towards preserving their legacy of integrity for the communities we live, play and work in. Our members, associates, and assistants invite you to give yourself the gift of confidence, encouragement and POSITIVE INTERACTION. |
